Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli (MFR)

Managing Partner

Ndidi is a Co-Founder of Sahel Consulting and serves as its managing partner. She has 23 years of experience in international development, and through her work with Sahel has shaped agriculture strategy and policy in West Africa for a range of clients in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

She is also the co-founder of AACE Foods, a social enterprise which processes nutritious food made from the best of West Africa’s cereals, herbs, pulses and spices. She is the founder of LEAP Africa which works across Africa inspiring, empowering and equipping the next generation of dynamic, principled and innovative young leaders.

Ndidi started her career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, working in their Chicago, New York and Johannesburg Offices. She was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and received a National Honour – Member of the Federal Republic from the Nigerian Government. She was listed as one of the 20 Youngest Power African Women by Forbes.

Ndidi holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an undergraduate degree with honours in Multinational and Strategic Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She was a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government at the Harvard Kennedy School and a 2018 Aspen Institute New Voices Fellow.

Ndidi serves as a director for the Rockefeller Foundation, Nigerian Breweries Plc (Heineken). Godrej Consumer Products India, Fairfax Africa Canada, Businessday Newspapers and on the Royal DSM Sustainability Board, Netherlands. She is the author of “Social Innovation in Africa: A Practical Guide for Scaling Impact,” published by Routledge. She is a TED Global speaker and her work has been featured on CNN, BBC, Bloomberg and a range of other international and local media outlets.

Temitope Adegoroye

Associate Partner

Temitope is an Associate Partner at Sahel Consulting where he is responsible for client engagement, project management and implementation. He is passionate about the agribusiness sector and has worked extensively across a broad range of value chains, with specific expertise on roots and tubers. He is proficient in market analysis, business strategy development, business sustainability, and project management.

Temitope has led several studies on agricultural policies and market entry strategies and implemented consulting projects in a range of priority areas including innovations in seed systems, mechanization, on-farm productivity enhancement and improved market access for agribusiness stakeholders.

Temitope holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Agronomy from the University of Ibadan and received his undergraduate degree in Plant Science from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. He is currently completing his MBA at the Lagos Business School, Nigeria.

Ernest Ihedigbo

National Team Leader

Ernest is an agribusiness finance and project development specialist with extensive experience in administering finance and risk management solutions and implementing projects in the agricultural value chain. He is skilled in project management, agriculture policy advocacy and designing debt financing products. In Sahel Consulting, Ernest leads the national team of implementing partners in Advancing Local Dairy Development in Nigeria (ALDDN)- a catalytic private sector-led, market-based dairy sector development program. In this capacity, he provides overall program coordination, strategic direction, financial oversight and high-level relationship management with Governments, funder and other program stakeholders. Before joining Sahel Consulting, he led a team of agribusiness finance, insurance and investment banking specialists in the Agricultural Value Chain Finance & Investment Services Department of NIRSAL PLC, a corporation of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He was a Director at Cold Chain Supply Systems Limited, where he led the identification and adoption of commodity supply chains and infrastructure for fresh produce to support urban markets. Prior to these, he had served as the Group Head, Agricultural Finance and Special Products at First Bank of Nigeria Limited.

He has been involved in diverse government and private sector projects aimed at improving the competitiveness and impact of the agricultural sector in Nigeria. He built and maintained the engagement between NIRSAL and the Executive Credit Committees of Banks and the CBN-Chief Risk Officers’ Forum. At FirstBank he managed the largest and most diversified deposit money bank agricultural lending portfolio (by transaction count and project type) between 2009 and 2015 under the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS). He chaired the Committee of Bank Agribusiness Desk Officers who designed the input finance and subsidy administration framework for Deposit Money Banks under the Growth Enhancement Support Scheme of the Agricultural Transformation Action Plan (ATAP)- a major policy intervention of the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2011. He designed and implemented the Industrial End-User Out-grower financing model for the rice value chain by which FirstBank supported OLAM PLC under the $25m USAID-MARKETS project, for which OLAM PLC received the 2008 World Business and Development Awards (WBDA). He also developed and implemented the private sector-led farm mechanization model funded by UKAID under PROPCOM, which became the blue print for commercial farm tractor financing in Nigeria. He was offered the position of Business Services Director at USAID-MARKETS with the mandate of forging alliances and closing deals on various interventions in the rice, sorghum, fish and dairy value chains in 2006.

Ernest has participated in various executive development programs including the Harvard Agribusiness Seminar in Boston, MA., Sustainable investments in Agriculture by the Columbia University Earth Centre for Sustainability Studies, the Grow Africa Summit of the World Economic Forum and the Rural Development Program of Galilee College, Israel. He served in the executive leadership of the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG). He holds the Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and Bachelor of Agriculture from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB) and a certified PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner.

Falaq Tidjani

Manager

Falaq has worked with development organizations, private organizations and government agencies on strategic assessment and planning, market analysis, national and regional policy analysis and entry strategies. She has worked on the downstream and upstream sectors and various value chains such as roots and tubers, fruits and vegetables, edible oils, grains and cereals focusing on several countries including Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria.

Falaq holds a BSc in Business Economics (First Class Honors) from the Anglia Ruskin University, England. She is proficient in French and English.

Olumide Oyebamiji

Policy and Advocacy Coordinator

Olumide works as part of a team at Sahel Consulting that provides agricultural value chain research and analysis, market entry strategies, policy consulting, and project implementation support to a wide range of clients.

He has worked on in-depth analysis of the maize and fertilizer value chains and is currently focused on the development of the local dairy sector in a way that improves the livelihoods of smallholder dairy farmers by improving their productivity and integrating them into the milk supply chain of formal dairy processors.

Olumide has close to a decade’s experience in development program management, research, business development, evidence-based advocacy and stakeholder engagement at local, national, and international levels.

He has led the design and implementation of high impact development programs on Access to Energy, Good Governance, Conflict, Stabilization & Reintegration, and Human Rights. He is also skilled in organizing public campaigns and community engagement.

His core competencies include research, data analysis & visualization; policy analysis; knowledge management; proposal development & donor engagement; and program monitoring, evaluation & lifecycle review.

Olumide holds a B.Sc. (First Class Hons) International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University and an M.Sc. Political Science (Development Studies) from the University of Port Harcourt.

Ayodeji Ojo

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Deji Ojo is a research and development practitioner with interest in livelihood opportunities, food security, nutrition and climate change in rural Africa. He leads the monitoring and evaluation of projects implemented by Sahel Consulting. His work involves the development of monitoring and evaluation plans, results framework and data systems. Deji also leads the training of field agents and supports the development of strategic plans for project implementation. He has over 6 years experience in research, program design, monitoring and evaluation.

Prior to joining Sahel Consulting, Deji worked as a field supervisor with Hanovia Medical Limited where he participated in data collection, monitoring of enumerators and quality assurance. He holds a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan and a bachelor of agricultural technology degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension Services from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
