We are building sustainable supply chains and fostering local dairy sourcing in Nigeria. The ALDDN program is improving smallholder dairy farmers’ livelihoods in seven states through strategic interventions such as feed and fodder development, animal health care services, artificial insemination, training on good dairy practices, women empowerment and financial inclusion and infrastructure development in rural communities.
Building an Economically Sustainable Integrated Cassava Seed System
We are transforming the cassava seed sector by providing farmers in Nigeria and Tanzania with affordable, quality-assured seeds via the establishment of an economically viable seed value chain at the breeder, foundation, and certified seed levels. We are implementing the Processor-Associated Seed System Model (PLM) for the project.
We are enhancing the sustainable income, food, and nutrition security of rural households in Nigeria by facilitating farmer’s access to high-quality seeds of improved varieties. The CSP aligns with the National Seed Road Map (NSRM), which aims to establish a competitive, resilient, profitable, innovative, sustainable, and transparent seed sector.
Early Warning Systems
Building Agricultural Systems Resilience through Effective Early Climate Action in Nigeria
We are identifying and addressing core gaps in Nigeria’s infrastructure for climate early action and related Early Warning Systems (EWS), focusing on risk management and resilience in agriculture and related sectors.
Program for Seed System Innovation for Vegetatively Propagated Crops in Africa
We are enhancing the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of vegetatively propagated crop (VPC) seed systems in Africa through research and delivery of innovations that will overcome seed system bottlenecks.

Through our partnership with Sahel Consulting on the ALDDN program, we’ve significantly transformed the Nigerian dairy sector, especially for smallholder pastoral communities. Their comprehensive approach addressed critical challenges like borehole infrastructure, conflict resolution, capacity development, and herd improvement through artificial insemination. We at Sebore Farms have witnessed firsthand the empowerment of women and youth as successful dairy entrepreneurs. The program’s impact is a testament to Sahel Consulting’s dedication to sustainable development and economic empowerment.
Alhaji Aminu Nyako-CEO, Sebore International Farms
It has been a wonderful experience working with Sahel Consulting under the CSP programme, and the partnership has facilitated variety release in Nigeria. Some areas where we have been having issues like harmonization of protocol for ECOWAS released varieties and guidelines for release of vegetable crops have been resolved through the effort and facilitation of Sahel Consulting.
